Wydad Athletic Club achieved a valuable victory over its guest, Mamelodi Sundowns, by two goals to one, during the match that took place this Sunday evening, on the grounds of Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, for the first leg of the African League final.
From the beginning, the “Red” team put pressure on the opponent, through a set of offensive maneuvers, in search of scoring the first goal.
Rivaldo Cotzé scored an own goal in the 41st minute, ending the first round with the Red Team leading by a clean goal.
During the second half of the match, the match referee announced a penalty kick, so Abdel Moneim Boutouil succeeded in equalizing the score for Mamelodi Sun Downs, within the 75th minute.
Substitute Anas Sargat succeeded in scoring the second goal with a shot outside the operations box, in the 80th minute, ending the details of the match with the Red Team winning by two goals to one.
The return match will take place next Monday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa.
