The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced that the Yas Sailing Race, 22-foot class, will be held next Saturday, as part of the first round of the new marine racing season.
The race is expected to witness strong competition between competitors, in light of the challenges facing this category of heritage marine races.
The club confirmed in a press statement that registration to participate in the race is available, and will continue until three o’clock in the afternoon tomorrow.
The head of the heritage racing department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, said that the launch of this tour represents the true beginning of a season full of challenges and achievements in the world of marine sports, explaining that the aim of the race is to support heritage sports and enhance the status of sailboats as an important symbol of national identity. In addition to providing a fair competitive environment, it encourages Emirati youth to develop their skills and take on new challenges in this distinguished field.
