Bangalore: Former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa brought the BJP to power in Karnataka for the first time in South India. He was removed from the post of Chief Minister in 2021 due to old age.
In this case, Prime Minister Modi invited Yeddyurappa to Delhi and asked him to participate in election work. Thus, Yeddyurappa enthusiastically participated in the BJP public meetings held in Shimoga and Hubli.
In this case, Yeddyurappa told reporters in Bengaluru, “I am 80 years old. So I am not contesting the upcoming assembly elections. I have no desire to get involved in central politics.
I will work for the development of BJP as long as I have strength in my body. In this election, I will tour all over Karnataka and collect votes for the party,” he said.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Yeddyurappa has decided to field his son Vijayendra in Shikaripura constituency.
