Young woman forced into prostitution after being offered a job; Two expatriate women arrested

Bahrain: Two expatriate women have been arrested for forcing a young woman into prostitution after being offered a job. . Authorities said the two men, who were involved in human trafficking, would be produced in court. They will be arraigned in Bahrain Criminal Court on May 15. Then the trial will begin.

They were flown to Bahrain after being offered a good salary at a hotel in Bahrain. The girl was brought to Bahrain by locals from her own country. However, the victim told the prosecution that she was forced into prostitution after arriving in Bahrain. She was locked in the apartment forcing herself to have sex with men. Defendants confiscated the woman’s passport. The accused threatened to return the passport if she paid 2,000 dinars (more than four lakh Indian rupees).

The woman later contacted the embassy and shared the information with the outside world. The police team reached the apartment where the girl was locked and released them. Police arrested the suspects on charges of burglary, harassment, incarceration and detention. Police transferred the woman to a shelter in Darul Aman.
