TTD Chairman YV Subbareddy stated that he was illegally implicated in the cases related to the allegations of illegal assets by CM Jagan. In 2016, he filed a quash petition in the High Court to strike his name in the CBI case of the Indu Housing Board project. Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan single-member bench is conducting an inquiry on this. Senior lawyer Vivek Reddy presented arguments on behalf of YV. It is stated that there is no truth in the allegations that Subbareddy benefited from the Gachibowli housing project and CBI has not shown the evidence.
- Allegations of quid pro quo in Indu projects
- YV Subbareddy filed the quash petition in 2016
- CBI alleged that lakhs and crores were spent
On this occasion, lawyer Vivek Reddy on behalf of YV Subbareddy mentioned a matter while hearing the arguments before the bench. The lawyer informed that his client was involved in this case because he was a close friend of late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He requested that Subbareddy’s name be removed from this case by taking their argument into consideration. He told the court that the main allegation was that 50 percent of the project’s share in the Gachibowli project was transferred to the petitioner. It was explained that the Vasantha project has acquired the 4.23 acre Gachibowli housing project.
However, this was countered by the counsel for the CBI. The CBI lawyer alleged that Subbareddy spent crores with only a few lakhs invested. For this reason, he requested not to remove his name from the case. The judge heard the arguments of both the parties and announced that the investigation is over. Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan revealed that he is reserving judgment in this case.
