Zamalek continued their victories after coming from behind to win 2-1 against Al-Masry Al-Portsaidi on Thursday at the end of the 16th round matches of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Masry advanced with a goal in the 33rd minute through Yasser Hamad, who received a free kick sent by Elias Al-Jelassi from the right side, and Hamad headed with a strong header to the left of Mohamed Abu Jabal, the goalkeeper of Zamalek.
Ahmed Sayed Zizou managed to equalize Zamalek with a free kick in the 61st minute from the top left corner of Ahmed Masoud’s goal, Al-Masry goalkeeper, to raise his score of goals to ten goals, to continue to be the top scorer in the league.
Substitute Seif El-Din Al-Jaziri doubled the score for Zamalek by scoring the second goal in the 76th minute, receiving Ahmed Fattouh’s cross with a header inside the right corner of goalkeeper Massoud’s goal.
Zamalek continued to move away from the top of the league from its traditional rival Al-Ahly, after raising its score to 38 points from 16 games, six points behind Al-Ahly, the second-placed player, who played 13 games, while Al-Masry’s balance stopped at 19 points from 14 games in the ninth place.
