Inditex has announced the launch of Zara Pre-Owned, a second-hand, clothing repair and donation platform, in 14 new European markets, including Spain, which will begin operating on December 12. The initiative will allow Zara customers to access these services through Zara.com, its mobile application and Zara stores.
Zara Pre-Owned is already operational in other markets. Specifically, it has been active in the United Kingdom for a year and in France since last September, and the Inditex Group frames its launch within its sustainability objectives for the coming years. The launch of this platform in Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal expands its scope of action.
The new platform will be available in the main menu of Zara.com, along with the women’s, men’s, children’s and beauty categories. Users will have services available such as the repair of used Zara garments of any season, with options ranging from replacing buttons and zippers to repairing seams.
The customer can complete the procedure entirely online or in the Zara store of their choice and the repair is done through local suppliers. Likewise, Zara Pre-Owned will also offer its customers the opportunity to sell their Zara clothes from any collection in a secure environment. The space will include detailed information about each item, including Zara’s original information about the garment and images provided by the seller.
Customers will also be able to request home collection of used clothing to be donated to non-profit entities, which will sort them for reuse whenever possible or recycle them if they have reached the end of their life cycle. This service will accept products from any brand.
