Yesterday morning, the New Administrative Capital in Cairo witnessed the launch of the ninth edition of the Zayed Charity Race, with the participation of more than 50,000 male and female contestants from various age groups, who set out on a path that extended for a distance of 10 kilometers from in front of the iconic tower to the Al-Fattah Al-Aleem Mosque, and the total prizes amounted to 20 million. In the women’s category (10 kilometers), first place was won by Wafa Zarul, second place was won by Yusra Nasour, and third place was won by Amna Bakhit.
In the Paralympic category for the four-kilometer speed chair, Islam Abu Ali won first place, and in the Paralympic category for the pedal chair, Haitham Adel won first place.
Dr. Sultan Saif Al Neyadi praised the Emirati-Egyptian relations, and said that the Zayed Charity Race is one of the valuable charitable initiatives offered by the UAE to all brothers and friends, as it bears a name dear to everyone’s hearts, and overflows with its goodness to every place it reaches, indicating that he was keen to participate.
