Zelensky assures that ATACMS long-range missiles “will help accelerate the liberation of Ukraine”
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has thanked his American counterpart, Joe Biden, for the delivery of the ATACMS long-range missiles, which “will help accelerate the liberation” of the country. “The delivery of ATACMS greatly encouraged the Ukrainians, since our warriors have put them to good use on the battlefield (…) and they can help us accelerate the liberation of Ukraine from the occupiers,” Zelensky conveyed to Biden during a phone call.
In addition to considering strengthening US military aid, both leaders have spoken about the different uses that can be given to blocked Russian assets, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Presidency.
Finally, Zelensky has informed Biden that the Ukrainian Parliament has adopted the necessary legislation to carry out reforms in the country and begin negotiations for its accession to the European Union. Previously, Zelensky spoke with the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, about the “operation and particularities” of the alternative grain corridor in the Black Sea, and the Ukrainian president has stressed its humanitarian importance.
